Erma Hayman House Public Opening

Join us for the opening of the Erma Hayman House in downtown Boise's historic River Street Neighborhood!

A formal dedication ceremony will take place at 12:00 pm on September 22, hosted by the City of Boise, the Erma Hayman House Task Force, and members of Erma Andre Madry Hayman's family. We will honor the life of longtime Boise resident and community advocate Mrs. Hayman (1907-2009), her house, and the history of the River Street Neighborhood, and offer visitors a first look at The Memoirs of Erma Hayman by award-winning American sculptor Vinnie Bagwell.

Following remarks and the dedication, explore the property at 617 Ash Street through self-directed tours, enjoy community activities, live performances, music, food, and more! Open until 6 p.m.

Come learn about and experience Boise's newest cultural site!

Live American Sign Language (ASL) will be provided during the official dedication.

Parking near and around the house is limited. Please plan ahead to find parking, use alternative transportation, or park nearby at Julia Davis Park or Ann Morrison Park.

The City of Boise encourages persons with disabilities and those who require language assistance to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing an accommodation, please email artsandhistory@cityofboise.org as soon as possible, but no later than 72 hours before the event.
